Laura C. Walters


Laura C. Walters received her undergraduate degree from Salisbury State College in 1987, and her Juris Doctorate in 1991 from the University of Baltimore School of Law.   During law school, Ms. Walters served as an intern to The Honorable Dana M. Levitz, Associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.  She was also a member of the University of Baltimore Law Forum, a legal periodical, and co-captain of the National Moot Court team. She was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in 1991,the bar of the United States District Court of Maryland in 1992, and the bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in 2007.

In April 1999, Ms. Walters formed and became a partner at Drechsler, Larkin & Walters, P.C.   Ms. Walters's areas of concentration are civil and commercial litigation including motor tort claims, premises liability, products liability, insurance law, construction law, nursing home claims, environmental claims, and lead paint poisoning cases.  She has briefed and argued cases before the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland and the Court of Appeals of Maryland.  Her litigation experience includes extensive involvement in several multi-million dollar insurance coverage cases.  Ms. Walters co-authored a chapter entitled Maryland Workers’ Compensation Law and Unemployment Insurance in a two-volume book titled Legal Guide to Independent Contractor Status. Ms. Walters is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Baltimore City Bar Association,  Defense Research Institute, and Maryland Defense Counsel.
